전북대학교 화학공학부 한지훈 교수가 미국 스탠포드대학교가 발표한 전 세계 학문분야별 상위 2% 과학자에 선정됐다.
최근 미국 스탠포드대 연구팀은 스코퍼스(Scopus) 데이터를 이용해 생애업적 부분과 2020년 단일 연도 업적 부분을 평가해 전 세계 학문분야별 상위 2% 과학자 명단을 발표했다. 스코퍼스는 네덜란드의 엘스비어(Elsevier) 출판사에서 2004년에 만든 세계 최대 학술지 인용 색인 데이터베이스다.

연구팀은 총 6개의 지표 값을 기반으로, 학문 분야별 최소 5편 이상의 논문을 발표한 연구자를 대상으로 평가를 진행했으며, 분야별 상위 연구자들의 정보를 데이터베이스로 제공했다.
이 가운데 한지훈 교수가 '화학공학' 분야에서 5편 이상의 논문을 발표한 연구자 229,150명 중 상위 2%에 포함됐다. '화학공학' 분야에서 상위 2%에 포함된 국내 연구진은 단 38명이며, '공정시스템' 분야 에서는 국내 연구진은 2명이고 거점국립대 중 한지훈 교수가 유일하다.

Recently, the top 2% of scientists list was released by a research team of Stanford University, California, based on Scopus data. Scientists are classified into 22 scientific fields and 176 sub-fields. Field- and subfield-specific percentiles are also provided for all scientists who have published at least 5 papers. Career-long data are updated to end-of-2020. The selection is based on the top 100,000 by c-score (with and without self-citations) or a percentile rank of 2% or above.
In Korea, there are only 38 researchers listed in the top 2% in the field of chemical engineering, and there are only two researchers in the field of chemical engineering -process systems, one of whom is Prof. Han Jeehoon.
