Research Topic 3 : Renewable energy with Process Simulation and LCA/TEA

Research Goal (연구 목표): 재생에너지 기반 공정모사를 통한 친환경 에너지 기술의 실현 가능성 및 지속가능성 평가 플랫폼 개발

Our research goal is to develop a systematic evaluation and design framework for renewable energy technologies by integrating process simulation with life cycle assessment (LCA) and techno-economic analysis (TEA). This framework aims to assess the environmental and economic feasibility of renewable energy production processes, including electricity- and hydrogen-based systems, as well as emerging clean energy technologies. In particular, our research focuses on (i) the development and assessment of environmentally friendly processes for renewable energy production, (ii) the design and evaluation of perovskite solar cell (PSC) fabrication and recycling processes using biomass-derived green solvents, and (iii) the modeling, analysis, and optimization of carbon capture and utilization (CCU) pathways based on CO₂ reduction potential and economic performance.
